Coffee supply chains are possibly some of the most wasteful in the world. These waste products range from coffee pulp at the farm level to wasted milk used in cafe's around the world. This films aims to highlight the fact that there are many uses for these products and that they can be used to create beautiful and delicious things.
By collaborating with Silo, a pre-industrial Restaurant in Brighton, coffee focused publication Lonngberry created a tasting menu that revolved around waste coffee including cheese from milk curds, waste coffee crumb carrots cooked in coffee grounds and sourdough hydrated with cold brew.
Together they wanted to create a dialogue around waste coffee, encouraging people to use it, enjoy it and decrease the waste in our supply chains.
