You couldn't ask for a more perfect day for this wonderful couple, and I'm so thankful they entrusted me to tell their story. Renee + Jerome are two of the most genuine and friendliest people I have ever met. From our first conversations at a bridal expo, then following on meeting one night for some hot drinks at The Firehouse, I knew that their love was the real deal, and their wedding day would be a great one.
Renee first met Jerome at an annual Christmas Eve party three years ago. Renee was impressed with his dance moves. Jerome however, was more concerned over the platter of food Renee brought to the gathering (whilst he brought his home-made Italian salami, Renee brought a platter which included kabana... "you don't make friends with kabana" Jerome proclaimed).
Mutual friends soon intervened, pairing them both to share a 3 hour car journey on the way to a camping trip. They bonded over R&B music and their mutual passion for travel - continuing to stay in touch until Renee answered Jerome's post on Facebook as he was searching for a travel buddy for a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia.
This was the start. Their start as a couple. These moments are what have brought us to today, their wedding day.
From the moment arriving at both of their houses in the morning, to the time of the night when we said our goodbyes at the reception, a smile did not leave Renee + Jerome's faces. You could see it. They were so happy. So excited. So in love with each other and looking forward to the years and decades ahead as husband and wife. Throughout their pre interviews and gift exchange, you could see a smile ignite in their eyes when talking about one another, their happiness and the bond that they share.
We captured the fun and genuine candidness of Renee + Jerome alongside Sean from A Touch of Flash Photography, which made the day enjoyable and light hearted. Renee looked absolutely amazing in her Raffaele Ciuca dress, with makeup by Sarah from Beauty Within - Mobile Makeovers and lovely flowers by Debbie O'Neill.
The ceremony and reception were held at the delightful Vue on Halcyon which boasts stunning picturesque landscapes of the Yarra Valley. Whilst rain threatened a few moments leading up to the ceremony, the speckles soon stopped in time for Renee to arrive in style, walking towards an excited Jerome. It was so lovely to work alongside one of the most amazing celebrants ever, Meriki Comito who told Renee + Jerome's story with elegance, humour and emotion.
Throughout the day and into the reception, every single moment shared between Renee, Jerome and their closest family and friends was absolutely exquisite. Nader from Midnight DJ's was on hand to ensure the reception vibe was in full party mode, as all danced the night away celebrating a newly married husband and wife.
Renee + Jerome - what can I say? Thank you for allowing me to capture your day and tell your story.
