A Trash Free Waters campaign, "Pick Up Litter, Save A Critter." A video short co-created with 8th graders at MS 246 Walt Whitman in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The curriculum is a part of Cafeteria Culture's "ARTS+MEDIA Trash Free Waters" school program, generously funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 2. Post photos and videos of your action of picking up/reducing plastic litter to save precious critters! These 8th graders are learning about plastic pollution - how street litter goes into our waterways and to the ocean. They are making short documentaries on various topics of plastic pollution such as the plastic impacts on wildlife, plastic in our food chain, litter survey and beach clean-ups, reducing street litter in Flatbush, etc. Student-made documentaries will be coming soon! Go to CafeteriaCulture.org for more about our school programs.
