Past winner of the RIBA Sustainability Award John Christophers has made a family home of rare quality using low energy materials and environmental systems. It is the first UK retrofit house to achieve zero carbon standards as defined in the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6.
Externally it has a completely different character to the rest of the terrace but really adds to the urban streetscape. It is full of quirky, delightful and well-considered details and is a robust and thoughtful design of exceptional quality.
