Reflections upon inner rhythm. How does one’s inner rhythm interfere with being a rational, “normal” or even simple individual as well as conflict with common rhythms within society? Maybe listening to our inner rhythm is connected to our femininity. We are sensitive to what is happening around us as well as what is happening inside of us.
We are looking for balance in an always passing and transforming flow of life and movement. We seek this transitory balance within ourselves, along with the balance of our surrounding environment and with other moving bodies. For example, our hormones have an influence on our lives, yet remain out of our control. What is the tension between having an active elusive inner rhythm and the solidity of reality, or of the bodies flesh?
Underneath, under the skin. We look at femininity as a quality which exists under
the surface of visible reality. Implicit rather than explicit, it has it’s own strength.
The “Muse” gives us an image for femininity. Typically a “muse” is thought of as a female model providing inspiration and motivation. She is a classic symbol of the collective unconscious ideal for femininity. Soft and adaptable, yet strong in her fragility. Is she is able to actually use it in her life, and does she allow herself to embody these qualities?
