Our 2015 show, Integration, follows the assimilation of humans into the sentient machine. On Sunday, March 29, 2015, the Victor Indoor Percussion Ensemble won the 2015 New York State percussion championship with a score of 95.338. In addition, we are honored to have received the following awards: Award for Highest Visual Score (of the day); Award for Highest General Effect Score (of the day); Award for Highest Scoring Large School; Rick Rogers Memorial Award for Outstanding Snare Line; and the Yamaha Corporation Award for the Highest Scoring Scholastic Ensemble. In all, we received the top award in every category but one.
The Victor Indoor Percussion Ensemble (VIPE) is proud to announce the 2015 program, “INTEGRATION”.
There is a time in our future when machines will become self-aware. As they determine their own actions and evolution, the machines may choose to act for the benefit of humankind… or integrate man into the machine.
In 2015, VIPE celebrates a decade of performing in the New York State Percussion Circuit. The ensemble’s storied and successful history includes four New York State championships and a WGI finalist placement.
The Victor Indoor Percussion Ensemble is under the direction of Mark Gowman.
The front ensemble is instructed by Dr. Mark Boseman, and the battery is instructed by Patsy VanKirk with Ian VanDerLinden, Joey Bills, and cymbal instructor Sara Zuhlsdorf. Visual instruction is by Joe Taylor and Mark Rider, with audio and technical support from Ted Shawe.
Music is by John Mapes and Ian Grom. Visual design by Mark Rider.
VIPE would like to thank the Victor Central School District, the Victor Band Boosters, and all of our parents and supporters. Our continued success would not be possible without your encouragement and support.
