Diving on the wreck of Steuben in the Baltic Sea.
On February 9th 1945 Steuben left the town Pillau with more than 4000 persons on board. She was on her way to Kiel. During the night between February 9th and 10th she was spotted by the Russian u-boat S-13 under the command of Captain Alexander Marinesko near to Stolpebanken off the coast of Eastern Prussia. The ship was hit by a torpedo and sank in 30 minutes. Only 300 persons survived the catastrophe.
