“CLARINET (Endangered)”: On April 3, 2016EV, some stalwart regulars of mm (m(usic(ian’s))m(eetings)) met at Who Unit? to play clarinets & (half-)listen to great clarinetists playing (well, I say “half” because we jabber most of the time) & to discuss things like fingering systems & crystal mouthpieces. Kenny Haney played 5 short selections on clarinet & Ben Opie improvised 5. This was all quasi-documented & made into a feature-length movie that will probably never appeal to anyone. This was then distilled to this short that’s intended to be sampled from for my MESSTERPIECE, “Endangered Languages, Endangered Culture, Endangered Ideas”. 2 other movies for this project are already on Vimeo: “ORGAN (Endangered)” & “ACCORDION (Endangered)” & there are 12 more to come.
