Streets of My Lolo (Grandfather) is a short documentary piece that used spoken word to highlight the efforts of SOMA Pilipinas to preserve Filipino History and heritage in the streets of South of Market, San Francisco which served as a n early settlement for many Filipino immigrants. It was inspired by the great mircales done by unsung heroes ( our ancestors) for our Filipino Community in the US. The piece was a created and first shown in October 2010 at the Filipino American History MOnth celeberation at the San Francisco City Hall and was also featured on the local talk magazine show "Adobo Nation" that airs on The Filipino Channel (TFC) in June 12, 2011 -- as part of the Filipino Channel's tribute to the anniversary celebration of Philippine Independence Day.
