Fukushima - Memories of the Lost Land - 福島 「失われた地の記憶」

The following photographs were taken in 2013 & 2014 in the area that was issued the most severe evacuation order after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident in March 2011. This landscape is peculiar and unlike other disaster-affected areas, being notably devoid of human presence. I strongly feel that it is important to pass on the records of what happened at this land, even if they only might be small pieces of the big picture.

これらの写真は、福島第一原発事故にともなう避難指定区域の中でも最も警戒を必要とする「帰還困難区域」において2013年と2014年に撮影されたものです。他の被災地と異なるところは 「人が全くいない」という奇怪な佇まいです。この地で起こったことの一端を記録として後世に伝えることが大切だと感じています。
