“Fenollosa’s Chinese”: I recently chose to read Ernest Fenollosa’s small book entitled “The Chinese Written Character as a Medium for Poetry” in which he claims pictorial origins for all Chinese written characters & claims that they’re all also verbs. I don’t agree with his analysis, which, as I understand it, is not currently accepted by linguists, but I found his examples inspiring & created this brief animation in response.
