Web Assembly (https://webassembly.github.io/) is a new effort by the major browser vendors to cooperate in providing a binary target for in-browser client-side software that promises near-native speed in a safe, language-agnostic way.
This clip shows a cable falling from the cloud, symbolising how WebAssembly is inspired by, connected with and enabled through the existing internet. The tetris blocks represent the effort to agree on a standard binary code for translating existing and desired browser functionality to and from generic native hardware. The formation of the final "WA" shield honours the HTML5 badge and shows how the logo is based on building blocks whose dimensionality depends on one's perspective.
