Help Save Dog Walking Recreation in the GGNRA
On April 23, 2016 upwards of 1,000 dogs and their human companions came out in force for the historic Mighty Mutt March at Golden Gate National Recreation Area's Crissy Field. The march demonstrated the overwhelming opposition to the National Park Service's proposed extreme dog rule—a rule which would cut 90% of current off-leash and about half of current on-leash dog walking in the GGNRA starting in early 2017. Areas on the chopping block include Fort Funston, Ocean Beach, Crissy Field, Muir Beach, the Marin Headlands, Rancho Corral de Tierra, Sweeney Ridge, and many other GGNRA sites.
In this 11th hour, dog walking and recreation groups have banded together to hire the prestigious law firm Morrison & Foerster. It's time to take this fight to the legal arena.
