As manager and bartender of the West Philadelphia whiskey bar Fiume, Kevin Holland works days and nights throughout the week to keep the bar stocked, prepped, and in business. It's a kind of blue-collar lifestyle that songwriter admits he would have never imagined for himself at an earlier age. But Holland's work pays off most on Thursday nights when he and his bluegrass band, the City Wide Specials, welcome a family of regulars and newcomers alike to sing, dance, and celebrate their music together. As it turns out, what Holland has found for himself at Fiume is something much more satisfying and worthwhile than he could have ever expected to discover in life. The people, stories, relationships, and memories shared at Fiume make it a place to call home.
