A portrait / mini doc of a man I met in Union Square, Saravuth. He was orphaned in Cambodia during the rise of Khmer Rouge and came to the US via American Operation Babylift - a directive from President Ford that called for the evacuation of orphaned children from Vietnam and Cambodia.
The operation was controversial because there was question about whether the evacuation was in the children's best interest, and because not all the children were orphans.
Today, Saravuth plays chess in New York's Union Square for a living.
