Brief:
Galaxy 61 was tasked with creating four Flex IDs that featured 2D characters pulled from the hit show, and developing storylines and environments that worked seamlessly with the existing retrofitted characters and action.
Galaxy 61’s Contribution:
This project tapped our full roster of services, including previz, animation, 3D effects, lighting, modeling and compositing. We literally lifted the 2D characters from the show and then isolated them from their backgrounds with mattes. Then each one was integrated into the 3D environments using highlights, shadows, and color correction trick. We also devised shading technique to transition the 2D clips into 3D lighting, and created a mix of element that included sand, clothe simulations, explosions, bubbles and blowing leaves.
