From spending time moving within the soft pine nest of the Casurina Grove womb – Movement Artist Cathy Williams was inspired to relate with the five She-Oaks as pillars of Ancestral wisdom and story – connecting the Red Thread of the Maternal line.
Feeling safely held and supported by the strength of those who have walked before us – knowing they live on through us - our somatic archeology of lived and living experience. This work resembles the Cycle of Life, celebrates Connection with Self and others and is infused with ever deepening gratitude to our vital Life Force.
The choreography for her work was inspired through intuitive movement response; mirroring of the She-Oaks shapes and textures and further by the emotions that arose within her in their presence.
This was a site-specific performance piece at Telopea Gardens, Emerald as part of Circling the Brink - Convergence Two at PAVE Festival April 2016.
