Just got my new video card the MSI N240GT-MD1G/D5 GeForce GT 240 1GB GDDR5 for the Mercury Playback Engine.

I uninstalled the old card, put the new card in which took a little time to squeeze it in there.

Booted up my computer and installed the drivers.

Then I followed Brian's tutorial on Vimeo to hack Premiere into thinking it is a Adobe supported card.

Did a setting to the 3D setting that Brian told me to do.

I went to change the project settings to Mercury playback engine hardware but it was already set for me.

I then got an Nvidia error which made me nervous then I remembered from the Studio 1 Production Guys that I need to update the drivers to 260.99 WHQL.

Fan noise is always 100% can I change this somehow?

Power consumption was the same not only for use normal computer use but also for rendering, well below the 460w max my power supply and below the 350w that MSI recommends.

I updated drivers.

New card doesn't help rendering speeds at all.

Now I just need to fill out the $15 rebate.

In the next video I will show you the difference it makes.
