Interlude is a collaborative project between Belen Tenorio and Jennifeer Flores, South American Art Directors and Experience Designers based in Brooklyn.
Over the past months, the subject of study has been ADD & ADHD. The research focused on what the individuals suffering from it encounter and how they navigate through their day to day lives. The results exposed, that according to cognitive therapy, people suffering from these disorders are kinetic learners— meaning that the more fidgeting, the better the concentration.
Participants were given a primary activity which was to solve a maze. While solving it participants were encouraged to engage in a secondary activity which was to fidget with a pad covered in magnetic paint. This Pad was connected to a makey makey, an electronic invention tool that allows users to connect everyday objects to computer programs. Linking the tool to a GarageBand-style sequencer for your browser called sampulator allowed participants to listen the tunes they produced during their task.
