This three-hour video is the entire first morning of a 1-1/2-day risk communication seminar. The basic content isn't radically different from tapes of my earlier seminars, just more recent.
A rough time breakdown:
0:00-0:21 Various introductions, agenda review, etc.
0:21-1:07 Risk = Hazard + Outrage
1:07-1:27 Sample Outrage Assessment: Genetically Modified Foods
1:27-1:39 Risk = Hazard + Outrage (continued)
1:39-2:38 3 Paradigms: Precaution Advocacy, Outrage Management, and Crisis Communication
2:38-3:02 3 "Games": Follow-the-Leader, Donkey, and Seesaw
The seminar was presented on February 2-3, 2016 in Sydney, Australia for the New South Wales Environment Protection Authority. Other environmental regulators from throughout Australia were invited, courtesy of the Australasian Environmental Law Enforcement and Regulators Network, which videotaped the first morning. GHD, an Australia-based engineering and environmental consulting firm, brought me to Australia for this and other events.
The tape is unedited -- inaudible questions and all.
