This introduction to Valueism argues that Capitalism in it's current form is fundamentally flawed. It suggests that the many new initiatives that recognize this, and are offering partial solutions, will have a bigger impact if they are given one new name. Valueism is the name proposed. It recognizes that value comes in many forms, not only monetary value. It is also about understanding that real value is about health, well being, opportunity and other forms of true prosperity. As a concept it is also a powerful management tool. Powerful because it is simple. It informs all decisions - they either add value, or reduce it. Once communicated to all, inside and outside the organisation, it also helps align actions and overcome the problems caused by silos. And because it incorporates vision, values, mission and other policies it is a powerful way of guiding behaviors - the kind s of behaviors that lead to business success and great reputations.
