As the Central Conference of American Rabbis continues the project of working toward a new machzor (High Holy Day prayerbook) for our movement, we are excited to present this introduction to so important a movement-wide project. Rabbi Edwin Goldberg, leader of the Editorial team will present a philosophical overview of the reasons for this project and the general editorial approaches being followed. He will be joined by Rabbi Andrew Busch and Cantor Evan Kent , a member of the Editorial team. They will share practical observations on the opportunities and choices presented by the new machzor and thoughts on what they learned in piloting the Rosh Hashanah morning service.Next month we will host a follow-up webinar in preparation for the Yom Kippur pilot this spring.
Led by Worship and Spirituality Specialist and the Director of the Congregational Consulting Group Rabbi Rex Perlmeter with guests: Rabbi Edwin Goldberg, Temple Judea of Coral Gables, FL, Cantor Evan Kent, Temple Isaiah of Los Angeles, CA, and Rabbi Andrew Busch, Baltimore Hebrew Congregation of Baltimore, MD.
