In the gothic "Palais des Papes", guests from the fields of politics, economy and creative industry debated on the future of cultural goods at the Forum d’Avignon.Behind the historic walls, once a papal residence, the accessibility and utility value of culture was discussed.

Im Mittelpunkt des Forum d'Avignon 2010 stand, neben dem Umgang mit Kulturgütern, vor allem die Finanzierung und Vermarktung dieser zum großen Teil immateriellen Güter. "Kultur wird nicht überleben, wenn man sie umsonst hergibt", ist dabei ein zentrales Statement des spanischen Politikers Ignasi Guardans, wie man Kultur verkauft und sie weiterhin für alle Menschen zugänglich macht. Zu klären bleibt außerdem, wer dafür zahlen soll.
