A Senior Volunteer assigned to the Vista Sheriff's Station is living a life of service. Joe Ruthenberg served 23 years in the Marine Corps flying planes and helicopters. One special assignment took him to the White House as a co-pilot of President Ronald Reagan's helicopter crew. Now he helps patrol the streets of Vista to keep the community safe.
