First one! Developed a lot of code through this. The physical structure is similar to a PCB, where layers are sandwiched together. It has the conductors on both the top and bottom layers of the quilt, while the inner batting is basically insulation. I wouldn't recommend that method again, since aligning the conductors properly is pretty hard with flexible materials like this.
