The IBC 2010 Conference session 'How Fast Is Your Workflow?' took place on the Sunday afternoon.
The session was chaired by Shane Warden, and featured panelists Bill Admans of Dolby Laboratories, Jon Ferguy of Sohonet, Neil Harris of Mediachannel, Richard Wilding of Molinare and Paul Walland of The IT Innovation Centre.
We have broken the session down into five chapters. Each chapter begins with a presentation and continues with a discussion around the subjects contained in the presentation.
In Chapter 3 the attention is turned to the development of new, faster workflows. Storage Area Networks linking islands of production over slow, inefficient, or expensive connections have been tolerated for several years.
Now, super-fast, affordable networks are with us, and creative groups can work, even across great distances, without bottlenecks or compromises, and equipment can be located wherever it is most convenient and least costly.
