Here is extract 4 out of 4 showing the first version of Crush's real-time video. This extract is from approximately 18 minutes into the system which is almost exhausted.
It was our first attempt at programming in Irrlicht (free open source 3d engine), and so in many ways this was a test.
Crush is an interactive sound-art installation exploring the microscopic forces released during the process of crushing rock. The work uses 3D numerical simulations of fracturing and real acoustic emissions to create an interactive, immersive, sound and visual space. The sound on this extract is of course in stereo, and in the actual installation many events in fact occur 'behind' you.
