BERLIN LOVES TOKYO
A small but highly committed community of Japan fans has formed in Berlin. These cross-dressers go where others would not dare to venture: choosing androgynous outfits to confuse gender stereotypes, they wear anything from Cosplay to Lolita Style. The city is the stage on which they act out their dreams and become style icons.
In doing so, they expose themselves to public prejudice as the freedom of self-actualisation also has a dark side for this small group of free thinkers. Nevertheless, they are committed to social causes, campaigning, for instance, against child pornography and the misuse of mangas.
