‘Cloud Catcher’,
site installation at Hornsey Town Hall 2016
by Constanze Schweda, sound by henry Rusted
‘Cloud Catcher’ is an installation with it's own water cycle, playing with scale and movement.
The body changes in transparency due to the level of condensation. The minuscule movement of water particles as they join to droplets and rivulets creates a kinetic surface in contrast with the scale of the sculpture itself.
Steam causes the skin to stretch and move on a different scale. The black harness which ‘holds’ the cloud is a reference to the geometric style of Art Deco and its symmetric shapes with dramatic contours
