Growing up in San Diego, Liz Clark learned a lot about the ocean through sailing and fishing trips with her family before catching her first wave at fifteen. After getting a degree in Environmental Studies at UC Santa Barbara and competing for her school’s surf team, She dreamed of taking her own wind-powered surf trips. With the help from a friend she bought an old 40 foot sailboat in the Santa Barbara Harbor while working at a local restaurant and learned the ins and outs of boat repair and maintenance, while outfitting the boat for her dream trip.Six years later, with her boat parked in some Tahitian harbor, Korduroy.tv was able to sit down with her during a restocking mission in her home town and learn about her motivations for taking this epic journey.
