This video provides an overview of the Mise-En-Scène Helper (MESH) project. The MESH project realizes a pre-visualization tool for cinematographic sets, multimedia events, architectural works, theatrical performances, art/entertainment installations. MESH is an open-source project, carried on by the ASA (Art Science Alliance) - Lab at the Virtual Reality & Multi Media Park, in collaboration with CIRMA-University of Turin, and is co-funded by the Chamber of Commerce of Turin. It includes both simplified graphic and tactile interfaces for building a 3D scene by importing 3D objects exported from a number of authoring tools (including SketchUp and Maya), positioning/animating such objects in the 3D scene, authoring a dynamics of the scene, and grabbing linear videos given the activation of cameras.
This video is a short documentary featuring professionals commenting on the importance of the pre-visualization process and is also a reel of projects realized with MESH.
