After Borges' short story The Disk from the Book of Sand about an encounter between a woodcutter and Odin in an atemporal forest. The Disk is a work for piano, electronics in real time and video. On the surface, it features score following techniques allowing the performer to be expressive without the need to synchronize with the computer using a click track or pitch trackers. Acoustic sounds from the piano are processed in real time generating a narrative that is accompanied with projected video. The 3D animation sequences are poetic metaphors for events and places in Borges' story connecting the philosophy of mathematics and Anglo-Saxon literature.
