The Hyundai Fandome, aka football heaven is a pop-up at London Kings Cross for EURO 2016. Featuring 360° screens that instantly react in real time to the footy action.
Poet & Vuj - presenters for Youtube football juggernaut Copa90, love Pro Evolution Soccer.
The Sidemen - professional UK gamers, love Pro Evolution Soccer.
The two sides meet for an epic afternoon of live knockout gaming action and we had the pleasure of animating the intro sequence to the show.
We took the animated intro that we'd made for Copa90's weekly show 'Comments Below' and made a big edit in the middle. Instead of Vuj saving Poet's 30 yard screamer this time we put the Sidemen in as a wall. The ball strikes Calfreezy in the face before bouncing out of the stadium, into orbit and through the clouds to football heaven.
Trying to mix the grunge branding style provided by Hyundai in their existing Dome assets (eg the cherubs below) and our clean cut style that we'd produced for Copa90 (ie Poet & Vuj) was a challenge. We added some grime to the look and luckily Hyundai were really happy with the results and so were we. The 45s intro was animated inside of After Effects using 2.5D techniques. The assets of the Sidemen and Poet and Vuj were also used for web promotions by Hyundai and Copa90.
Illustrations once again by the incredible talent that is Roger Wade.
