Behind the scenes of Larry Achiampong's 'Jam in the Dark, 2016'.
This was the first time that the musicians had met and played together for the artwork; a sound-sculpture experiment that is ever-changing and improvised in pitch-black space. Using darkness as a unifying presence between audience and musicians, the Jam is also an act of rebellion against the traditional indicators of status and hierarchy within the gallery.
Musicians: Bobbie-Jane Gardner, Riketté Genesis, Andrea Goldsworthy, Jonathan Holland, Josh King-Farlow, François Larini, and Shingai Shoniwa.
Part of the Curating Contemporary Art 2016 Graduate Project Sorry you missed me at the Royal College of Art.
Directed by Ruth Sewell.
