BIG CAT WEEK was launched on BBC ONE for the first time in 2004 and peaked at 7 million viewers for its final night. Fiona Pitcher was the Executive Producer. It was developed from BIG CAT DIARY on BBC TWO created by Keith Scholey and his team. With help from EASTENDERS we tried to create a true animal soap opera based around three big cat families - lions, cheetah and leopard. The series was created by a 40-strong production team camped out in the Masai Mara where we filmed and edited for around 10 weeks.
