"As you get older you don’t often think about chances or potential. The potential in someone who is getting older is there and that is a lovely thing.”
For the past five years more than 20 men and women living in the North East have taken part in Creativity Matters, our Big Lottery funded project using creativity to engage older people as volunteers and improve wellbeing.
The group take part in dance and ukulele sessions before sharing what they have learnt with residents living in care. Since it launched Creativity Matters has worked with hundreds of older people and care home managers to highlight the health and wellbeing benefits of creative ageing and volunteering.
