Dr. Sarah Allen, Senior Science Advisor, Point Reyes National Seashore, presents a pictorial overview of the 45 species of marine mammals in the Tomales Bay.
Dr. Allen describes the types of whales, dolphins, sea otters and river otters, as well as sea lions which are associated with the Tomales Bay.
She the recent decimation of the salmon populations, "death by 1,000 cuts." Many marine mammals eat salmon. Two scientists in the audience remind us that some eat green crabs, an invasive species, as well.
