Motion-triggered wildlife cameras were installed at the Ohio State University campus to capture videos of animals. Each student artist in my Moving Image Art course selected video clips to transform through rotoscoping; frame-by-frame process of manipulating video. Each used their own styles to recapture and re-present the movement of these local animals. Some artists used hand-drawing techniques, while others used computer-assisted tracing, masking, and effects.
As part of the BioPresence project in Fall 2015, everyone taking Art and Technology courses at the Ohio State University created artwork about the non-human life on campus. Each artist's contributions are in order of appearance: Brandon Messner, Riley Patrick, Brandon Ball, Jacob Markusic, Michael Anderson, Leah LaFarciola, Amy Youngs, Gaopeng Chen, Christine Rucker, Drew Grigsby, Catherine Lee, Mackayla Combs, Hui Yang, Jay Young. I edited the video and Yoni Mizrachi helped me with the soundtrack, which is based on Catherine Lee's original soundtrack for her work. More about the BioPresence project: artand.org
