Over the last few years the Celtic nations have led the way in attracting big budget scripted TV productions, Ireland leading the way with shows like Vikings, Penny Dreadful etc. NI has been the location for Game Of Thrones, Scotland Outlander and Wales De Vinci's Demons not to mention Dr Who.
What are the benefits to small nations in attracting these mainly US projects as compared to film and more indigenous forms of production. What is the economic benefit to screen industries and the wider economy? What are the advantages and particular challenges of making some of the world's biggest TV shows in Ireland, NI, Scotland or Wales.
