Gray whales, the most ancient mammals living on Earth, migrate annually to great distances. They swim about 20 thousand kilometers from the southern latitudes of the northern Pacific Ocean and back. These majestic peaceful giants usually travel in groups, but sometimes a female with a calf fall behind the group and find themselves helpless in the vast ocean, where at any moment they can be attacked by the main and only enemy – orcas, so called killer whales. Orcas are intelligent, cunning and ruthless, they attack calfs which have strayed from the group just for fun. Will the mom-whale be able to protect her baby, or will the shore of Sakhalin become their last refuge?
