Slave Market museum with augmented and virtual reality experiences.
Digital concept developed by byAR (byar.pt) to the Municipality of Lagos, in partnership with the P-06 Atelier (p-06-atelier.pt) and Expocena.
byAR was invited to design and develop the digital experience for Slave Market Museum.
The museum was design to offer two different experiences: for those who like to have a classical visit without any digital experience and for those who want to be surprised by the digital and interactive contents.
Through Augmented Reality we created an invisible layer of digital contents available through a tablet or a smartphone. With this technology, for example, we can see either an animated african map on the wall or the reconstruction of a ivory spoon, or even the old town map comes alive, among other experiences.
Because it was impossible to adapt the museum building for people mobility handicaps, we replicated the second floor, into hyper-realistic 3D, using Virtual Reality glasses. So everyone can visit the entire exhibition.
There are also some ghosts around the museum, displayed in Video Walls hidden in the walls.
The motion graphics, layouts design, videos, etc were produced by byAR, based on the contents provided by the museum.
Enjoy the video!
