The Flinders, Exchange, Soho, Hugos and many others were more than just places to go out. They were people's livelihood. They were institutions. They helped make Sydney a vibrant city and an exciting place to live and they are now gone.
'Closed Sydney' is a timelapse short film with original music by Art vs. Science's Jim Finn. It documents the stillness that has settled over the once bustling heart of Sydney.
The short film was created using motion-control timelapse technology which moves the camera (Canon 5D) on three different axis as it is taking photos. Each shot took up to an hour to setup and shoot, the final film being a combination of over 3,800 individual stills combined to make the video.
