An interactive wall-work by Chris Clements commissioned by the Melbourne Institute of Technology.
This piece adorns the social space for students in the historic Argus building in Melbourne. The image represents the building itself and is peppered with QR codes used by the students to link to websites via their phones.
This video itself is links to the wall so students, staff and visitors can see the process with which the work was made.
'Flight' merges both the physical and digital landscapes that students inhabit while the QR codes act as virtual windows, creating portals into digital environments.
The work takes as inspiration the Piet Mondrian painting ‘ Boogie Woogie Broadway (1943)’ which abstracted the city grid of Manhattan using colour and composition inspired by the boogie woogie music of the time.
