On June 2nd, 2016, the Chester Charter School for the Arts broke ground in Chester for the construction of a fully fledged K-12 school that will open in September, 2017. The building will include two classrooms for each grade, break-out reading rooms on every floor, a regulation gymnasium, a multi-media/computer lab, science laboratories, dance and art studios, and a cafetorium for food service and small-scale performances.
The new school building will be a beacon in the community, bringing an attractive, bustling campus to a largely residential neighborhood.
The mission of The Chester Fund for Education and the Arts is to support The Chester Charter School for the Arts (CCSA), an arts-integrated, academically rigorous, non-profit public charter school in the Chester Upland School District. CCSA serves educationally underserved children in kindergarten through 9th grade, and will expand to 12th grade by 2018.
The Chester Charter School for the Arts prepares children to employ their intellectual and creative powers to enrich their community.
