Sorcha Kenny’s latest artwork is a film about home, loneliness and how her dog rescued her from being physically and mentally stuck
The 11 minute moving image piece documents the unusual journey the artist took with her dog in search of a feeling of home and to break the crippling melancholy she was experiencing. She walked from Dublin to Roscommon in four days with her terrier cross rescue dog, Murphy. The destination was her Grandparents (long since passed away) house in Drivera. Her first memory of home that had recently become embedded in her thoughts. The film is a mix of film, still images, walking and dancing, It is narrated by Sorcha’s father, Tony.
