In Flushing, New York yesterday, two people with possible ties to the Chinese Communist Party were arrested for attacking a Falun Gong practitioner.
Apparently, it's not the first time this has happened. Practitioners of the spiritual movement have been subject to harassment and physical violence here in New York for several months by groups with ties to the Chinese consulate.
Yesterday afternoon, police arrested two people for attacking Ms. Zhu Jiang, who is both a Falun Gong practitioner and an NTD reporter. She says that as she was there reporting on the situation, the attackers, working as a couple, took her press credentials and damaged her video camera.
When the police arrived, the two were still holding Ms. Zhu's press credentials. After an investigation and checking Ms. Zhu's recorded video, the police formally arrested them.
