The Georgian president went to visit a Georgian refugee camp in Gori. The city was heavily hit during the Georgian/Russian conflict. The president promised the refugees help with starting a new life.

The camp is now home to thousands of families from the Georgian city of Gori. The city was almost completely destroyed during the Georgian/Russian conflict last month.
The president is promising financial help and new homes for the families.
[Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgian President]:
"All those who lost their property will get financial compensation, those whose houses have been destroyed completely will move into new ones. I give you my word ."
Development agencies think the rebuilding could take years and be a huge financial strain on the Georgian economy.
Russian soldiers have now begun dismantling checkpoints in Georgia.
This comes after Moscow agreed on Monday to withdraw it's soldiers from buffer zones set up along the Georgian borders.
