The changing film finance marketplace brings with it different places to look for money. One such example is currently being seen with the re-structuring of the UK Film Council and the introduction of the Production Fund which will have a major impact on the way that lottery money is distributed. In June 2010, Own-it held a seminar on the current status of film financing, featuring the views of three different voices: the lawyer, the public funder and the producer. These three perspectives allowed the event to touch on the legal issues needed to be addressed in finance structuring, the potential use of co-productions to raise funds and of course public funding initiatives which is often the first port of call for many established and burgeoning producers.
