So every day in consultations, I have people say to me, "Oh, I know people who have porcelain veneers and they are ugly." And my initial response to that is, "If they were good veneers, you wouldn't know they had them at all." There's a lot of porcelain veneers that look fake and there's a lot of reasons porcelain veneers can look fake, but the reality is is that porcelain veneers that are done correctly, they blend in. You shouldn't even know that they're there. Our goal at Atlanta Dental Spa is for no one to know that...no one's going to even know that you've had porcelain veneers done unless you tell them. They're supposed to mimic nature. The reality is people shouldn't notice a good veneer, and that's kind of the trademark that we try to set our standard to.
There's a lot of things that make a veneer look fake, and quite frankly it's usually lack of expertise and experience by the dentist and the ceramist that's doing the work. It takes proper training and qualified, skilled ceramists to make the product look correct, at Atlanta Dental Spa, that's why we do thousands and thousands of veneers every year, because we have that expertise and we have that training. Often, we have people that say, "Oh, I know someone who went down to South America and got their veneers for $400," and we see that all the time. The reality is is that veneers are not a commodity. It's not about the cheapest product, because really at the end of the day the little piece of porcelain is only part of the process. You're also getting the doctor's time and their expertise, as well as the quality of materials and ceramics to make it look real and make it look natural.
