In the remnants of a medieval tower in Lucca, a strange game was excavated. For centuries the checkered board and the colored tiles puzzled the scholars. But piece by piece, a fascinating story was revealed, a story about a power struggle between the nobles of Lucca, a struggle fought over blocks with towers. Was the game used to plan the strategy? Or was it the game itself that inspired the nobles to build the towers that still rise above the city? Now you can find out!
Lucca takes the players back to the medieval power struggle in the city of Lucca. The players take turns to place tiles and form blocks. The bigger the blocks get, the higher the towers they can build, using both their and other players’ tiles. As blocks grow together, the higher tower will destroy the lower but lose tiles itself and eventuallly be lost to another player. In the end, there can be only one Lord of Lucca.
